I love to photograph landscapes and nature. For me, it is a wonderful way to find peace and relaxation, the pleasure of capturing a moment in time, and sharing it with others.

There is such a thrill in capturing an image of a wild animal or bird - to actually be able to freeze a moment in time shared with another creature is one of the greatest privileges I can imagine. I also enjoy taking photos of our pets, so don't be surprised to see Nikita, Tiger, Jay or Lucky et al popping up here and there!

Here you will find a few images of our small hotel, situated within easy reach of downtown Nassau - our little oasis, a garden full of lush green trees and flowering shrubs, - even a small aviary for our quaker parrots - and a small family island style building, with self catering rooms. Summer rates $75.00 per day, winter rates $80.00 per day (US$), subject to change.

Flowers, butterflies and birds - I find a fascination in photographing the natural world, and the Bahamas is a wonderful place for this, providing an infinite palette of colour and variety.

My husband and I live in Nassau, on the very small island of New Providence, the capital. Enjoy a visit to our island through these images, and also images from one of our family islands, Andros, the largest island in the Bahamian archipelago.

Feel the rhythm of our African heritage, experience the "rush", join in the dance - our cultural festival, Junkanoo, held on Dec 26 and Jan 1 annually, is a riot of sound, colour and movement that hypnotizes you, and compels you. Colourful costumes, made from crepe paper, feathers and other decorations, music played on goatskin drums, tubas, brass instruments, whistles and cowbells will dazzle you. The parade starts at midnight and goes on until......

I am interested in black & white images, and sepia especially, and while I have tended to favour colour images, mainly because of the incredible colour of the waters around the island that I live on, occasionally something catches my eye, and just begs to be photographed in this more dramatic way.

While I live in the Bahamas, I have the best of three worlds - my parents live in Alberta, Canada, and I love to visit them and go camping in the beautiful National Parks of Alberta and British Columbia. This category includes some of the images that I brought back from a trip in the summer of 2006. And that third world? I was born in the UK, and my children are now living there, having studied at Aberdeen University in Scotland - you might enjoy a visit to the gallery entitled "Scotland".

These are images that I have had a little fun in Photoshop with. I hope you will enjoy them.

A new venture for me, one I think I'd like to pursue a lot more in the future.

While visiting the beautiful granite city of Aberdeen, Scotland, for my son's graduation from the university, we visited some of the beautiful castles and countryside (and enjoyed some very untypical sunny and warm weather!). Take a short tour through my gallery, and I hope you will enjoy the visit too!
